Gwyneth Paltrow is standing by her unusual approach to vaginal health

'Celebrities' and 'health advice' are not exactly words you'd associate together in a sentence.

Considering they're so busy with their own careers, friends, family or partners, you wouldn't expect celebrities to have the inside scoop on health tips and treatments. One celebrity who is known for preaching the good word of health (we're not sure if she's entirely true or false a lot of the time) is actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The founder of GOOP, an online weekly publication covering all elements of health and lifestyle, has been known for her strange beauty tips along the years, giving tricks on how to stay looking youthful and advising people on what to eat and drink for beautiful skin and more. While the actress has been both criticised and praised by fans for her dubious health advice over the years, her latest comments on how to best clean a vagina has gotten her into hot water. According to The Cut, the Glee actress made an appearance at a Credo store while making the ill-advised comments. A member of the audience asked the mother of two for a recommendation of an unusual beauty treatment to try when Gwyneth suggested vaginal steaming, saying “Try it!”.

Speaking to the site, she told of how she first uncovered the wonders of steaming her vagina.

"The first time I tried v-steaming, I was like "This is insane". "My friend Ben brought me and I was like, “You are out of your fucking mind. What is this?” But then by the end of it I was like, “This is so great.” Then I start to do research, and it’s been in Korean medicine for thousands of years and there are real healing properties."

Following her unusual beauty suggestion, people took to Twitter to express their disbelief at the star's advice.
