Gwyneth Paltrow may be an A-list star but that doesn’t stop her from standing up for what really matters.
The Iron Man actress, who lost her father to cancer, is reportedly at the forefront of a new cancer research campaign and fundraiser in the UK.
As part of her role she will be promoting the campaign called ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ which involves a television spectacular on Channel 4, who have combined with Cancer Research UK for the event.
A Channel 4 insider told media: ‘This is a huge commitment for Channel 4… The idea is to provide an upbeat and fun night of programming that touches people and gets them reaching for their credit cards.’
As well as Gwyneth there are a number of other stars said to be involved including comedian Ricky Gervais, singer turned reality television star Peter Andre and Gwyneth’s other half Chris Martin along with the rest of Coldplay.
A family affair: Gwyneth’s hubby Chris Martin will also be involved in the campaign.
The source also revealed that more names will be added to the list over the coming weeks: ‘We are slowly adding more names to the high-profile cast we will have doing things on the night.’
Any money raised by ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ will go towards cancer research and also towards providing information and support to those affected by cancer.
