Just when it looked like the cream of the celebrity crop didn’t experience the stresses of everyday life, Gwen Stefani goes and admits that having a family and a career is very difficult.

As much as it is stating the obvious, it is nice to see that the rich and famous go through the same sorts of things that us mere mortals do.

The pop star has revealed in an interview with the UK’s Elle magazine that she has struggled to find a balance between being a singer and a mother.

Gwen who has two sons, Kingston and Zuma, with her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale has taken some time out from the music business over the last few years because being a mum affected her ability to write music.

Gwen with her other half Gavin Rossdale who is also a musician.

She told the publication that she is still concerned about making time for both her career and her kids: ‘How do I do both? So it’s like the constant battle that I have every day. I do worry about that all the time.’

This is a battle that Gwen also said gets harder as time goes by: ‘When you first have a baby your life doesn’t change. I mean, you have a little less sleep and you drag these cuddly things around and it’s just amazing.

‘But you still get to be you. Once they get to, like, five, six and school, it starts to get, like, ‘Wow, they’ve got real problems.’’ Just wait until they reach their teenage years!

Gwen will be busy with the band promoting their new album for the next while.

The 42 year old will certainly be busy over the coming months as she will be on the road promoting No Doubt’s new album ‘Push and Shove.

Then again there’s always Gavin…
