David Beckham has announced that he is to retire from professional football. Beckham, who is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, has turned down the offer for a one-year extension on his contract.
Following the team winning the French league, Beckham decided he wanted to finish his career on a high.
The 38-year-old who began his career with Manchester United has also played for Real Madrid, AC Milan and Los Angeles Galaxy.
“I’m thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level,” he said.
Beckham holds the record for making 115 international appearances as an outfield player.
We’re pretty sure he won’t have to worry about his career off the pitch.
