Uh-oh, it seems as though things have escalated yet again in the battle between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. According to reports, Kris is now demanding that Kim returns the gigantic engagement ring that he gave her.
RadarOnline reports that Kris believes Kim should do the right thing and return the ring to him. After all, he was the one who splashed out a whopping $750,000 (that’s around €580,000) on it. The ring itself is a huge 20.5 carat diamond Lorraine Schwartz affair and has been valued at a cool $2million.
“Kris is adamant that he wants the ring back. And it’s becoming a real sticking point between his and Kim’s attorneys. She has made it plain that she has no intention of returning it though and feels she is within her legal right to refuse as she went through with the wedding.
“However, Kris contends that the marriage was a total sham and that Kim only wed him for publicity so therefor she has no right to keep such an expensive gift,” said a source close to the situation.
“Kris doesn’t understand why Kim would even want to keep the ring anyway. It obviously has no sentimental value as she has publicly declared their wedding was ‘a huge mistake’ and she certainly doesn’t need the money, so why doesn’t she just return it to him?” the source added.
Rumours are circulating that Kim wants to be free of Kris so she can marry her current beau, Kanye West
Kris and Kim’s lawyers were in court doing battle again earlier this week, and Kim’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, alleged that poor Kim was being kept “handcuffed” to Kris because he refuses to grant her a divorce and wants to take her to court instead.
“Kris is more than willing, and eager, to end this chapter of his life,” said the source.
“But he wants it done on his terms. He thinks Kim tricked him into marrying and he wants his day in court to prove that. There’s no ulterior motive, he just wants the record set straight and what he perceives as a massive wrongdoing against him put right,” the source added.
Should Kim give back the ring or does she deserve to keep it?
