The sun came out to play last weekend. And it certainly affects our mood doesn’t it?
I just returned from my holidays, to be greeted by similar temperatures to those I had experienced in the Nevada desert, albeit in the less glamourous surroundings of Essex.
V Festival has become a staple in my summer festival diet, and it’s a festival that draws in an impressive line up, with Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses, The Killers, Noel Gallagher and LMFAO amongst the headliners this year.
The problem with having a hot, sun-drenched festival means I turn into a hot, SWEAT-drenched presenter. I’m someone who’ll never be happy with the weather; if I’m not too cold, I’m too hot. Is it just me, or is this an Irish thing?
But besides me being a ‘moany Michael’, (I quote Father Ted a lot in my daily life, along with The Simpsons and Friends), everyone else’s spirits were heightened by the sun.
I spoke to Redfoo, (surely his mother didn’t name him that), from LMFAO right before he jumped on stage. He even brushed his teeth during our interview, as we were cutting it close.

I also got to see a very good friend of mine, the hugely talented artist Bo Bruce. I think we sometimes don’t think we’ll hear anymore from the ‘runner-ups’ on shows like The Voice and X Factor but people like One Direction have proved otherwise. (Niall and the rest of the boys were at V playing in the sun too. Niall seemed to have the Mullingar contingency with him). But anyway back to Bo… Those charming One Direction boys have a habit of distracting people don’t they?!
Big things are set for Bo. The tent she performed in was packed, and her new material is great. Keep an eye out for the upcoming single ‘The Fall’.

Speaking of the Voice, I caught up with coach Danny from the Script this week. Their new album #3 is out next month and I, for one, can’t bloody wait! The new tune with Will.I.Am, ‘Hall of Fame’, has a great hook and is unbelievably catchy. Danny also likes to make funny faces in photos like me.

And finally, my mate Eoghan decided against the common wellington boots festival attire for V and spontaneously bought these… ‘eye catching’ Jeffrey Campbell trainers.
Laura’s friend Eoghan chose some unusual festival footwear…
What do you think guys? I’m still undecided… But the boy sure got a lot of attention!
