Loose Women star Denise Welch has tried again to give up drinking, after her boyfriend filmed her drunkenly lashing out.
Denise, 53, was reportedly so upset by the footage she vowed to quit drinking in order to save her relationship with Lincoln Towney.
The pair have been together since April of last year, but their relationship only became public in January of this year, shortly after Denise separated from her actor husband of 24 years, Tim Healy.
Welch, who has long had a reputation for a wild social life, attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings while she was starring in Coronation Street in the late nineties, but over the past number of years has often been pictured looking worse for wear following a night out.
Lincoln, who is fourteen years younger than Welch, used his phone to film her girlfriend’s drunken abuse. The incident is said to have happened seven weeks ago, and Denice has reportedly resisted the urge to drink since she saw the video.
Speaking on her new lifestyle Welch said: ‘You realise you have been working on 10% capacity rather than 100%. I’ll never say never to another drink but I’m enjoying my sobriety.’
