The fashion police are on patrol this week as London Fashion week kicks off today.
The irony is, I think you get away with wearing whatever the hell you like more so THIS week in London than any other time – the more outrageous the better! Fashion should reflect personality and mood, and this week sees a lot of BIG personalities come to town.
Last Thursday was Vogue’s Fashion Night out in London’s shopping district, as well as in other cities around the world such as Paris, New York and of course, Dublin.
I parked myself in a giant DJ box in River Island’s massive Oxford Street store for the night, playing anything from DJ Supremo’s, C2C, to Rihanna, (well she has just confirmed she’s doing a collection with the brand, so I felt it fitting). I still can’t believe I spent 3 hours in a clothes shop without buying anything!

Tuesday, I made my trading room debut. BGC traders hold an annual charity event every year on September 11th to honour its 658 employees who died in its twin towers offices. A selection of charities are chosen every year and given the company’s profit for the day. One of the charities involved this year is MTV’s Staying Alive, which strives to effectively tackle HIV and Aids in third world countries.
I made myself comfortable at a desk and made a trade… I didn’t really understand what I was doing, but thankfully the real traders were on-hand to help me out.

Everyone from Sir Roger Moore, Lewis Hamilton and even Pudsey the dog were on hand to help out too. Sadly, I think Pudsey has more a chance of being a successful trader than I have!
