Superstar Will.i.am has signed up for a course in Information Technology to learn computer programming.
The Voice UK judge has always been interested in technology and decided to enroll in a course that will school him on code writing.
The rapper said he idolises computer programmers and said they are “dope.”
According to The Mirror the star said: “Next year I am going to school to take a computer science course.
“When I am 57 I still want to be relevant in popular culture and the way to be relevant within popular culture in the future is writing code.
“Code writers, they are my idols. Songwriters are cool – I can write songs, too – and bloggers are cool but code writers? Those are the coolest in the world.

“When I was 17 I had a dream and all the dreams I have had since 17 I have done them beyond what I thought I was ever going to do.
“So now I want to go back to school and learn how to write code so I can participate in this whole new era that we are in.
“Writing songs is dope but writing code is better,” he said.
Will.i.am has not hidden the fact that he is devoted to technology and often fiddled with his hand held devices during the filming of The Voice.
The star is extremely active on social networking website Twitter and even got into trouble with BBC One bosses when he was spotted on his Blackberry sixteen times during one live show. Will.i.am couldn’t even resist sending a tweet while carrying the Olympic Torch earlier this summer!
Her.ie thinks Will.i.am will definitely be a teacher’s pet but he should take our advice and avoid texting in class!
