Former Eastenders star Tamsin Outhwaite has admitted that she is finding being a single mother “tough”.
The actress, who has two daughters, split from husband Tom Ellis last year and told The Daily Telegraph that she would have done “anything to stay together”.
“I’m the sort of person who makes the best of things. I will always find a way to make things work, if I can. All I can say is that I believe I would have done anything to keep us together as a family but that wasn’t what happened,” she said.
“Of course, there’s a part of me that wants to set the record straight, but I don’t want to put any more stuff out there on to the internet for my children to end up reading. If the price for that is being seen in an unflattering light now, then it’s one I’m prepared to pay.”
She went on to say that she had found the transition to becoming a single parent a “tough” one but revealed that she hadn’t ruled out the possibility of getting married again in future.
“It’s tough working as a single parent, but I’m lucky enough to have chunks of time when I’m at home and a huge circle of friends and family, although my biggest extravagance is child care. It’s not as if I’m struggling financially… my hat goes off to those who have that burden of worry as well.”
