There’s nothing like a cup of tae after a long day travelling. Thankfully Simon Cowell seems to know this because he sent his private jet all the way to Dublin to pick up some Irish newspapers and a box of Barry’s Tea for Louis Walsh.
Why was Simon being so kind to the Irish X-Factor judge? Well he wanted to say thanks to Louis for standing in for him at the last minute on an episode of the X-Factor USA.
Simon is believed to have spent a small fortune on making sure that Louis had all his home comforts aboard the jet – namely some papers so he could keep up with the Irish news and a supply of tea for his long journey over to the States.
The jet was on its way to Manchester to pick up Louis, when it made the quick pit stop in Dublin earlier this summer. The jet then carried on to Manchester and then New York.
Louis was delighted that Simon had stocked the plane with Irish teabags.
Louis said that since he appeared on the US version of the show, X-Factor USA producers have asked him to stay on standby, just in case any of the other judges can’t appear. Apparently Louis was a massive hit with audiences in America.
“When I got on the plane all this was laid out for me…all the Irish newspapers and some Barry’s Tea,” said Louis, speaking to The Star.
When Louis landed in the States, Simon had already arranged for his own personal make-up artists and assistants to look after him and make him presentable for his US debut. Louis sat in the head judge’s seat beside Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A Reid, and according to reports, he had some major craic with his fellow judges.
We wonder if a permanent move Stateside is on the cards for Louis in the future?
