Now, we know that things have been well, eh, completely mental in the Jackson household over the past week, but we definitely weren’t expecting this to happy: Michael Jackson’s two eldest children want to legally emancipate themselves from the late singer’s family.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that Prince Michael, 15, and Paris, 14, are planning on petitioning the Los Angeles Superior Court next month.

A legal source who is close to the Jackson family said that the two teens will ask a Judge if they can be completely removed from the guardianship of any of their father’s relatives because they are upset with the recent drama in the Jackson family.

Paris and Prince are planning on telling a judge that there home life is “too unsuitable and unstable” and is affecting their welfare.

In the past few weeks, there have been reports of missing/kidnapped grandmothers, fake wills and incidents involving battery at the Jackson family mansion, so we can understand why Paris and Prince want to go to court.

“They are aware this may not be granted but they believe it could trigger an immediate order for them to be placed under the guardianship of Diana Ross,” said the legal source.

“They are hoping a judge will say they have every right to pursue their own futures without interference from anyone, including their relatives and Miss Ross,” the source added.

As it stands, a court order has placed the Jackson children in the temporary custody of their cousin TJ. The order will last for 30 days before there is another hearing, and it is believed that Prince and Paris will then petition for their emancipation.

“I can’t remember the last time such a petition was granted in L.A. but it may be a clever legal device to remove themselves entirely from family care,” said Jim Fedalen, an expert in California family law.

“An emancipation order could be granted for the older children on condition that, with their younger brother, they agree to reside under the care of Diana Ross at least until they are a little older,” Mr Fedalen added.

We wonder if the Jackson children will be successful in their attempts to get away from Jacko’s family. We’re also curious to find out if the claims of Michael Jackson’s will being fake are actually true…
