‘A fame-seeking slapper…’ Coleen is growing more sympathetic to Wayne

It's undoubtedly been a tough few weeks for Coleen Rooney.

The 31-year-old mum-of-three - currently pregnant with her fourth child - has had to deal with her husband's drink-driving arrest. That when he was stopped by police he was with another woman en route back to her home has undeniably made matters even more difficult. Since that night, Laura Simpson - the woman with whom Wayne was socialising with on the morning of September 1 - has found herself in the spotlight.

Initially fuming, Coleen is said to be growing more understanding of her husband's actions. Indeed, she is reportedly now placing a lot more blame with Ms Simpson.

The Sun On Sunday states: "Coleen has been furious at Wayne. But the more she learns, the more sympathetic she is to Wayne’s version of events.

"She labelled Laura a 'fame-seeking slapper'."

Ms Simpson appeared on This Morning urging Coleen to stand her ground and not forgive Wayne - although she also stated that the whole incident was "blown out of proportion". And it is on the back of that interview - along with Laura seemingly changing her story - that has Coleen, 31, reconsidering her options. "She still thinks Wayne was in the wrong," The Sun source added. "But for the first time it seems he has some light at the end of the tunnel."

Ms Rooney had to return home from a holiday in Spain when she was told of Wayne's arrest; he spent 12 hours in a police cell in the aftermath. The couple has three young sons: Kai, aged seven, Klay, four, and Kit, 18 months. They have been together for 15 years and married for nine and the family lives in a €6.5million home in Cheshire. She was initially staying at her parents' house and had removed her wedding and engagement rings.
