Shailene Woodley won’t be making diva demands anytime soon. In fact The Fault In Our Stars actress has revealed she’s given up her house and all her worldly possessions – bar what she can fit in a suitcase.
The Divergent star told Jimmy Kimmel that she has downsized her life since her acting career took off, and can now carry her possessions by a single suitcase:
“I have some kitchen items that my grandma is using. But other than that, yeah, everything that I own and use is in a carry-on suitcase. I figure if I only own a few things and it gets lost, then I would get nothing.”
Woodley told the TV host that she’s since given her house in LA to her grandmother, saying:
“I was only home for 15 days last year and I got home and I was like, ‘I don’t want to be alone. I want to be with my friends and family.
“So, I got rid of everything just so I could have one suitcase that would be easy to transport between houses and just kind of couch surf for a few months. But it’s so refreshing and it takes so much stress away when you’re like, ‘Ugh, I only have one pair of jeans to wash.’ It’s so nice.”
The minimalist has admitted she’s not a fan of technology either, owning just a laptop. Although she has a phone right now, she’s not shy of admitting it’s purely for promotion purposes:
“We’ve been doing so much press and they were like, ‘Shai, we need to be able to get ahold of you, so here’s a temporary phone and we’ve taped the number to the back of it so you won’t forget it”.
Somehow we don’t see this star joining the selfie brigade.
