Elaine Crowley has opened up about how fitness has helped her wellbeing

TV presenter Elaine Crowley has opened up about how getting fit and being part of Dancing with the Stars has helped her psychologically.

Elaine said being part of the RTÉ show has completely changed her life, but her fitness journey started when she went to a wellness retreat in Thailand.

She explained that making lifestyle changes has had the biggest impact on her mood, as well as her physical health.

Elaine said being part of the dancing show has helped her reach a new fitness level in an interview with The Irish Mirror.

“It is good to be fit. Forget the gym and climbing mountains, do a bit of dancing instead. It is great craic. I will probably keep it up after the show ends, just for fitness.”

“It has taken me a long time to get into any shape to do this. You feel great after dancing and the happy hormones boost through your body. That is what it is all about,” Elaine said.

The presenter said she’s using muscles she never thought she would but she hasn’t weighed herself in some time.

“Every year I say I am going to get fit. It just so happened that I started getting fit in December, so this is one year my resolution will actually come true,” she added.

She continued, “I’m a changed person in the last year. I am seizing every bit of every day.”

She said dancing has helped her “reap every little bit of joy out of life.”
