“Look out for others everyone.”
Ellie Goulding was among a group of people who came to the rescue of a driver who was being T-boned by a lorry this week.
Videos circulating on social media show the motorist’s car being pushed sideways by a Royal Mail lorry along a London dual carriage way.
The footage shows several people trying to get the attention of the delivery driver, who later said in the video that he “didn’t see him, I honestly didn’t see him.”
Singer Goulding was among those who left their vehicles to tend the man to see if he was alright.
She later said on Instagram that it was “the craziest thing” she had seen on the road.
“Was just sent this – I’m the one in the car checking if this guy was OK – craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the road.
“Everyone was driving past but my driver Guy stopped. Drive safe and look out for others everyone!”
Goulding later added that she was shocked by the number of people who began filming the incident on their phones, rather than helping.
“On a side note,” she said. “I can’t believe the first instinct of the other drivers who got out was to instantly start filming on their phones and shout abuse at the poor shocked driver, not even checking the other driver was okay.
“What on earth.”
A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: “We are very concerned about this incident. We sincerely hope that no one was hurt. We are investigating as a matter of urgency.”
Neither the man nor the lorry driver were injured in the incident.
