Reality TV star Virgina Macari has revealed how the Dublin Wives producers asked her to fake an argument with her fiancé for the cameras.
The “Dublin wife” got engaged to Norwegian Kaste Dahl during filming for the show, but she said the TV bosses wanted her life to look less than “perfect”.
She said: “They really had their reservations about… here’s a person who is really happy in her relationship, she loves her partner, he loves her, she’s just moved in to a lovely home, she’s having a baby, she’s setting up her own business, everything is going great.
“And they felt people weren’t going to like me because of that. They wanted something that wasn’t perfect. They wanted me to argue with Kaste on camera.
And I said: “Are you crazy?” We barely fight in general anyway, and I’m not going to let people think that is what we do.
“So I said this is what is happening in my life and if you are not interested in it, then that’s fine. There is no way I am going to portray myself or my life or my family in a way that isn’t true.”
The show hit headlines in the States last week as it was revealed how much the women earned per show.

The 37-year-old said she also had to deal with a camera crew turning up at the hospital as she was giving birth to her son Thor.
“They wanted to come into the room when I was having the baby and I said no way was that gonna happen. And even when I was saying no, they turned up and were knocking on the door when I’m in the room screaming,” she told TV Now magazine.
“Thank God I knew not to let them in. Because I could have broken and said ‘OK, come on in then’, and I’d really regret that now.”
The half-Italian admitted she only took part in the fly-on-the-wall series to get publicity for her new swimwear line Miss V.
And she revealed how her fiance tried to convince her not to get involved, explaining: “He felt like they were going to be delving in to our private lives!”
Which they did really Virgina…
