The first episode of the Voice UK 2015 saw Dublin native Lucy O’Byrne perform and her stunning vocals wowed both the crowd and the judges.

Both will.i.am and Rita Ora wanted Lucy to join their respective teams but in the end, the classical singer chose The Black Eyed Peas member.

Although Lucy sang Ebben Ne Andro Lontana from opera La Wally, she told the judging panel that she can sing other styles too.

Lucy, who works as a usher in London’s West End, previously competed in The Voice of Ireland and was part of Kian Egan’s team in 2012.

Speaking to The Herald recently, she said: “After being on Kian’s team in 2012, I decided to train as a classical singer so that I wouldn’t lose my voice, but then I fell in love with opera singing.

“I moved to London a year ago and so I decided to audition for The Voice over here”.
