From falling on her way to collect an Oscar to being blatantly honest about her love of carbs, it’s pretty safe to say that Jennifer Lawrence is a girl after our own hearts. There’s just something so down-to-earth and ordinary about her, huh?
We didn’t thinnk it was possible to love her any more than we already do but we stand corrected. The actress has just revealed that she was badly bullied throughout her childhood and has told how she dealt with the “b***hes” (her words, not ours).
The Sun reports that despite the fact she’s an award-winning actress now, Jennifer struggled majorly while she was growing up.
“I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean,” said Jennifer.
“They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn’t invited to. But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can,” she added.
She may be a superstar now but thinks weren’t always easy for Jennifer
Jennifer admitted that as she got older, she learned how to cope with the bullying.
“Don’t worry about the b***hes – that could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life,” she said.
However, she confessed that she still struggles as a young woman in Hollywood but she tries to protect herself as best she can by choosing her films very carefully.
“It’s hard for a young woman because typically the roles you’re offered are beautiful and bitchy, ugly and nice or pretty and stupid. I’ve been lucky to stay away from that,” she said.
She’s also tried to steer clear of the obsessive dieting and poor body image that Hollywood is synonymous with. The actress said that she prefers to stick to her own favourite diet, which consists of “anything fried and carbs.”
“I don’t even think you can call it guilty pleasures, the way I’ve been eating lately,” said Jennifer.
“The other day I had pizza for breakfast, buffalo wings for lunch and pizza for dinner. Probably my favourite food is a potato – just a potato, because I like fries, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes,” she added.
