It’s always hard to learn from your mistakes, but it seems like Ronan Keating has done just that and now he’s passing on his wisdom to his own children.
Apparently Ronan has warned his children not to follow in his footsteps and to be careful not to “f**k up” their lives like he did. However, the Boyzone singer has admitted that he knows it will be impossible for him to lecture his children on how to behave ever since his cheating ways became public knowledge.
“Especially now, now they know everything because of Facebook and Twitter, so I can’t get away with anything,” said Ronan, speaking recently.
“I guess to be a human being with your kids is important. Be honest – and I have been. Yeah, I did it wrong, yeah I f**ked up, it’s wrong, learn from my mistakes,” he added.
Ronan also revealed that one of the songs from his new album was inspired by the intense and crushing loneliness he felt while he was living in Australia, following the breakdown of his marriage.
“I tell you, I was in a very dark place and I was very lonely. I felt very isolated and it was music and it was my kids that got me through that time. It’s difficult, when you f**k up like that, you think it’s all lost, it’s all gone and it’s when you’re at rock bottom, it’s a scary place to be,” said Ronan.
“You have to find faith, you have to find hope in something, whether it’s a person or your dogs or what you believe in and that’s what the song is about,” he added.
Ronan is teaming up with Brian McFadden for a tour in the new year.
Ronan recently confirmed that he had found new love with Storm Uechtritz over the past few months. The singer met her while she was working as a producer on the Australian version of the X-Factor. Despite the fact that their marriage fell apart, Ronan’s ex-wife Yvonne opened up and said that she was delighted her former hubby had found someone new and was happy again.
If only all splits could be that amicable, eh?
Anyway, Ronan is joining forces with former Westlife singer, Brian McFadden in the new year for a tour of Ireland and the UK. Will you be buying a ticket to see the boys perform?
