Doja Cat has been in hot water after slating her fans.

Rapper Doja Cat has spoken out on the massive exodus of followers from her Instagram account.

This comes a month after the music artist lost a large chunk of her fan base due to speaking negatively of them.

As a result, she reportedly lost over 250,000 followers in two days following the back-and-forth with her now-former fans.

Hype Auditor, a social media tracker, records that Doja has lost upwards of 800,000 followers since the incident.

However, for the first time since, she has spoken out to share how she feels about the situation.

Last night, she took to her Instagram stories to say: “Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long.”

“It feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was. I feel free,” she wrote.

Former fans of Doja Cat were put on blast by the rapper when they began referring to themselves as ‘kittenz’ or ‘kitten.’

“My fans don’t get to name themselves s**t. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f**king ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This resulted in some aggressive back and forth between Doja and some fans.

“What should I change my name to since you don’t like the term kitten[?]” one fan asked the singer.

To this, Doja Cat responded with, “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything it’s not too late.”

Following this, many of her largest fan accounts went on to delete their page in response to her tweets.

This also saw Doja Cat hit back at a number of fans who tried to question the tweet.

“I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys),” one fan pleaded, to which the 27-year-old replied: “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”

Another X user confronted the artist for this response.

“And we don’t know you. but we have supported you through thick and thin. mind you you’d be NOTHING without us. you’d be working at a grocery store making songs on f**king garage band miss high school drop out…..”

This didn’t seem to waver Doja Cat’s thoughts on the situation, as she tweeted back: “Nobody forced you idk why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother b**ch you sound like a crazy person.”
