Mary Byrne may have gone from the Tesco checkout to the stage but the singer has revealed that she has had a bit of a tough year.
The singer, who is from Ballyfermot in Dublin, has revealed that she worries about where her next pay packet will come from.
Mary rose to fame after making it to the finals of The X Factor in 2010.
According to the Irish Independent she told Newstalk’s George Hook: “I’m worried about the next cheque…. I constantly worry that I won’t have enough to keep me going.”
She added: “I haven’t earned anything since last November. I haven’t done anything because I was changing management.”
Despite her post-show success she says money is still a concern.
Mary, who released a best-selling album and autobiography following her stint on The X Factor, is currently working on her new album and is due to perform at the Olympia Theatre in May.
The full interview is due to be aired on The Right Hook on Newstalk at 6.30pm this evening.
