Michael Douglas has shared a reassuring update about his partner, Davina McCall, following her recent brain surgery
The news came as a shock to her fans, but the 57-year-old broadcaster has made significant progress, according to her partner.
Michael described her recovery as “an enormous leap forward” over the past day.
Davina, who underwent surgery to remove a colloid cyst from her brain, is now out of the intensive care unit (ICU).
This rare condition, affecting only three-in-a-million people, was discovered during a routine health screening.
While the cyst wasn’t an immediate threat, Davina decided to have surgery to prevent any potential complications.
Michael, who has been in a relationship with Davina since 2019, took to her social media accounts to share the encouraging news.
“Update – mega progress these last 24 hours. Massive relief to see some light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming in from all angles. Up and up. Michael xxx,” he wrote in a heartfelt post.
In an additional caption, Michael offered further details to fans: “Thanks so much to all the well-wishers. She really has made an enormous leap forward in the last 24 hours. She is out of ICU and ‘loving awareness.’ Thank you xx Michael.”
Davina first revealed her diagnosis last Friday, explaining that the colloid cyst was detected during a check-up.
Despite its rarity, she chose to have the tumour removed due to the potential risks it posed to her. Her candid announcement sparked an outpouring of support from fans.
Now on the mend, Davina’s rapid recovery brings relief to those who have followed her journey closely.
