Love Island star Davide Sanclimenti has issued a lengthy statement following his break-up from fellow islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
Reality star Davide Sanclimenti has slated reports that claim he is returning to Love Island.
He also slammed claims he ‘blindsided’ Ekin-Su when he ended their relationship.
Writing on Instagram, the influencer said:
“I genuinely don’t understand how some people can twist my old pics from Ibiza’s post creating this fake narrative that I could be going back to Love Island when in reality this was a work trip with BoohooMAN arranged months ago.
“Did anyone even think how difficult it would be for me to post the story knowing that right now all I needed was actually some peace and privacy?”
Davide Sanclimenti stressed that he didn’t want to post about their break-up online because it was so difficult. He explained that he wanted to keep it private, but it was necessary to confirm the news online.
“I didn’t blindside her as she was fully aware of my intention to post and at first she even agreed to post at the same time, she did change her mind last minute though.”
He said Ekin was aware of his post before he shared it online, but she decided not to post a statement at the last minute.
“The relationship has been on the rocks for months and parting ways has been a long time coming, I ultimately decided to go ahead with it rather than keep on dragging a situation that became unhealthy for us both.”
The Love Island star said breaking up was “one of the hardest things I ever did in my life”.
He claimed he was nothing but a “genuine, caring and loving boyfriend” and slammed the constant stream of “toxic criticism circulating around” him.
Davide said the “fake stories and accusations” put pressure on their relationship, as well as his mental health.
He said he cannot deal with “daily fake and toxic accusations that are going around”.
He continued, “Most people have a good sense of judgment and see how things really are. Sadly some people are creating even more stories just for some clicks on their names or pages.
“The reality is that I’ve been always by her side supporting her and wanting her to succeed,” he stressed.
Davide said he isn’t the person “some twisted and nasty individuals” have been trying to portray him as.
