Corrie star Hayley Tamaddon is expecting her first child

"I've always wanted to be a mum."

Congratulations are in order for soap star Hayley Tamaddon, who is expecting her first child. The actress made the announcement on Twitter, telling followers that she wasn't sure if she would ever be able to get pregnant.

"EXCITING NEWS TWEET!! I'm so pleased to tell you all... I’m expecting my first child with my wonderful boyfriend Adrian!!" she wrote. "I've always wanted to be a mum and didn't think I could have children. And now, at the ripe old age of 42 - I'M PREGNANT! We couldn't be happier."

Hayley also shared a photo of herself holding her bump, beaming as she shared her news. She and partner Adrian have been an item for two years. Hayley has had relationships with actor Joe Tracini and comedian Marcus Brigstocke in the past. She was also previously engaged to choreographer Darren Charles, who admitted to cheating on her. Hayley has spoken about motherhood before but told the Mirror that she was too busy with work.

"It would be lovely to have kids in the future but for now my main ­concentration is my work. "I'm not scared of nappies or screaming babies but I'm just not at that point."

Hayley played Delilah Dingle on Emmerdale between 2005 and 2007. She went on to play Andrea Beckett on Coronation Street from 2013 to 2015. She's also known for roles on Shameless and Waterloo Road and also appeared on Soapstar Superstar. She won the fifth series of Dancing On Ice in 2010.
