Coldplay add fourth Croke Park date following phenomenal demand

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Coldplay have announced that they will be playing a fourth Croke Park gig in Dublin in September 2024 following phenomenal demand for tickets.

The gig will take place on 2 September next year, following three other shows and was open for pre-sale as soon as the concert was announced.

In a post on social media, promoter MCD said: “Due to incredible demand, 3rd & 4th Coldplay Music Of The Spheres World Tour dates have been added on [sic] 1st & 2nd September 2024 at Croke Park in Dublin!”

The announcement comes after over 160,000 people logged on to try to get tickets during the first presale, and while some were successful, many people were waiting for hours in the queueing system or else received an error message.

The band confirmed their first two Dublin dates last week which will see them play Croke Park on Thursday, August 29th, and Friday, August 30th, 2024, as well as the new date of September 1st and 2nd.

Next summer’s shows mark Chris Martin and Co’s first Dublin gigs since 2017. The band also confirmed that there will be a limited supply of €20 ‘Infinity Tickets’ available for the upcoming gigs, however, they won’t be available until a later date.

The general sale will take place at 10 am on Friday, July 28th.
