You’d imagine that germs would be the last thing on Batman’s mind, but apparently not. Christian Bale was spotted using hand sanitizer after shaking hands with movie fans.
The Irish Sun reports that Bale spent over an hour signing autographs and posing for pictures at the London premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. Clearly he wasn’t taking any chances with his health after shaking hands with fans, because as soon as he got into his limo, he was spotted using hand sanitizer in order to kill off any germs.
“It was priceless. He’s a fearless crime-fighter in the film but in real life signing a few autographs was a gamble he wasn’t willing to take without some chemical protection afterwards,” said Dave Hogan, a photographer with the Irish Sun who snapped Bale cleaning his hands.

But it’s not just Christian who feels the need to cleanse himself after touching his fans. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also sanitises his hands after he’s met some members of his adoring public.
