Chrissy Teigan has quit Twitter following a controversial comment she made on the Ottawa shooting, which attracted trolls to her account.
Following a fatal gun shooting at Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Teigan tweeted:
“Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in America, Wednesday.”
The comment drew negative feedback for the model, who addressed the attention posting:
“Sorry you don’t understand that is a knock at america and our issues with gun control. No one is minimizing the Ottawa shooting…I’m not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault”.
The refusal to apologize mounted in Teigan receiving death threats, with the 28-year old posting a screengrab of some of the abuse:

Following the attack, Teigan said she was “shaking mad” and announced her intention to delete her account, posting:
“I feel sick. Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to instagram.”
