Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit out at Simon Cowell for making comments about her weight, saying it was “ungentlemanly”.
The X Factor boss made the comment during a recent interview, when he revealed his shock at Chezza’s appearance during her short stint as a judge on the American spin-off of the show.
“When I saw her I didn’t recognise her. Literally. The hair and outfit were crazy. Just totally crazy,” he said.
“She’d put on a bit of weight, but not loads. That wasn’t the issue. The only way I can describe it is that it wasn’t Cheryl sitting in that seat. She’d lost her confidence.”
However, Cheryl has not taken kindly to his observations, telling Yahoo Celebrity that it showed he had not been taught good manners,
“I heard this rumour and I think a gentleman should never speak about a woman’s age or weight but that’s only if you’re educated on how to treat a woman.”
“So, unlucky for him. And who listens to Simon Cowell these days anyway? Does anybody? I don’t listen to him anymore.”
