Cheryl Cole has broken her silence and cracked a few brave jokes following the car crash in Los Angeles that left her with a sore arm and a bloody nose.

The Irish Sun reports that the singer flew home to the UK last night and showed that she was in good spirits, despite the accident, by making a few jokes.

Cheryl is said to have told her friends that she was starving and on her way to get a late-night feed at McDonald’s with Will.I.Am when the incident happened.

“I ended up having an unhappy meal instead,” Cheryl joked (ba-dun-tish!).

Well, you have to admire her for having a sense of humour now don’t you? Cheryl flew out of Los Angeles just hours after the crash because she wanted to get home and be around her family and friends.

While Cheryl did not need hospitalization after the accident, she was pictured wearing a heavy-duty blue sling, suggesting that she had been checked over by a private doctor.

Cheryl and Will.I.Am crashed into a parked vehicle at 3.30am on Tuesday morning, following a late-night recording session at a nearby studio. The Irish Sun exclusively ran pictures of the scene of the accident which showed Cheryl and Will.I.Am cradling bloodied noses and looking shaken.

Will.I.Am was taken to hospital following the incident, but was later seen leaving, wearing a neck brace.

Will.I.Am was in the car with Cheryl when the accident happened.

“Both Cheryl and Will.I.Am were desperate for some food after working all day in the studio. They only intended to nip out for a quick bite – but ended up staying up for most of the night,” said a source.

Cheryl was reportedly fussed over by flight attendants as she made her way home and when she arrived in London, a wheelchair was waiting for her but she refused to use it.

“She is okay but still shaken about what happened. She has seen the pictures in The Sun and can’t believe how much blood there was,” said a friend of the singer.

“Everyone is just thankful she and Will are all right. Cheryl is home to see friends and family after what was a nasty experience abroad. Her mum’s been on the phone and wants to come and see her as soon as she can,” the friend added.

It is still unclear what caused the accident, but according to reports, neither Cheryl or Will.I.Am are being questioned and there is no suggestion that anyone was to blame for what happened.
