Cheryl Cole was seen wiping away her tears with her sleeve as she nursed a bloody nose after being involved in a car crash.
The Irish Sun exclusively reports that the singer was a front seat passenger in a Cadillac that smashed into a parked car at 3.30am. Black Eyed Peas singer, and Cheryl’s BFF, Will.I.Am was driving at the time of the incident.
Witnesses of the accident said that the steering wheel airbag inflated, smashing into Will.I.Am’s face and causing his nose to bleed profusely. However, no safety systems appeared on Cheryl’s side of the car, suggesting that her face was slammed into the dashboard.
Onlookers say that blood was streaming from Cheryl’s nose and lips, and she was seen crying and clutching her head.
Will.I.Am is reported to have checked to see if Cheryl was okay and leaned across to stroke her head and check her injuries. Cheryl then used her sleeve to put pressure on her injured nose.
The car crash occurred in Los Angeles, and according to reports, badly damaged the park car. Thankfully no one was inside the parked vehicle at the time of impact.
Police arrived on the scene shortly before Will.I.Am was taken to the nearby Cedars-Sinai hospital for a full check-up. The singer was later seen leaving the hospital in a neck brace. Cheryl, who was in L.A rehearsing for her upcoming UK tour, was believed to have been treated at the scene and did not need any hospitalization because of her injuries.
“It was a shock but thankfully she’s fine now,” said a source who is close to Cheryl.
An eye witness to the accident said that both Cheryl and Will.I.Am were shaken but were checking each other over before an ambulance arrived at the scene.
“They both had nose bleeds and at least one of the airbags had deployed,” said the witness.
“Police soon arrived and everyone was told to move back. It was only when Will.I.Am stepped out I realised who he was and that the passenger was Cheryl. Will.I.Am’s main concern was Cheryl,” the witness added.
According to reports, Cheryl and Will.I.Am had been working together in a nearby studio moments before the crash.
Cheryl and Will.I.Am have always been close and recently, Cheryl described him as being like “family” to her.
