Cecilia Ahern has given birth to a baby boy.
Cecilia’s brother-in-law Westlife’s Nicky Byrne announced the arrival on Twitter yesterday.
“Just met my brand new nephew Sonny. Only 3 days old! A little smasher. Well done Cecilia & Dave,” he wrote.
The daughter of former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern already has a two-year-old daughter, Robin with her husband David.
The couple announced Cecilia’s pregnancy in March and decided to keep the sex of their upcoming arrival a surprise.
Speaking about her first pregnancy Cecilia said that becoming a mom meant a lot to her.
“I see this baby as the greatest gift I’ve ever been given. I’ve never been so excited in my life … and I’ve had a lot of exciting things happen to me,” she said.
Bertie now has four grandchildren including Her.ie columnist Georgina’s five-year-old twins Rocco and Jay with her husband Nicky.
