Cat Deeley has admitted her love for comedian Patrick Kielty took time to blossom.
The TV presenter said that her relationship with the Irishman was not love at first sight.
The 35-year-old first met the Co Down man in 2002, but it took them almost nine years to get together.
Now the former model has revealed how their friendship eventually transformed into love.
She spoke of her 41-year-old fiancé, saying she had “finally seen the light.”
“What can I say? He’s a very old friend and I’ve finally seen the light.

“I’d wanted someone who’s supportive and who would be there for me and I have found that. I’m very, very happy.
“I used to like blokes who were a little rough around the edges, a bit of a project. I think it’s very easy to mistake drama for passion. But as you get older what you’re looking for in a relationship evolves.
“Kindness in a man is more important to me now.”
The TV presenting couple sparked rumours last month when Cat was spotted showing a ring to friends as they laughed and enjoyed a few drinks at the Goring Hotel in London.
