Brian Says ‘No’ to Westlife Songs at Wedding

It seems that Brian and Vogue's wedding was quite a strict affair what with the all of the security measures and the reported ban on Westlife songs.

Perhaps in keeping with the fact that none of his former band mates attended his wedding, Brian McFadden is said to have banned all Westlife songs on his big day.

The singer, who wed Vogue Williams at the weekend, apparently told both his new wife and the DJ that he didn’t want any of the band’s hit songs played at the evening do.

According to the Irish Daily Mirror this morning Vogue, who was in charge of the playlist, decided to adhere to her other half’s request sticking instead to the likes of Florence and the Machine and Michael Jackson.

Not that you could blame her. As great as ‘Flying Without Wings’ is, it is a bit of a cheesy choice for a wedding.

Vogue had the task of picking which songs to put on the wedding playlist.

Speaking about the disco, a source told the newspaper: ‘They were having a great time, the tunes kept going until the early hours of the morning.

‘But Brian had clearly had words with the DJ because no Westlife tunes were played… A lot of guests thought he might have put one on in an ironic way but nothing came at all.’

Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian were all left off the guest list. So too was Louis Walsh who denied a rift between the boys last week.

Neither the boys or Louis Walsh were on the guest list for the big day.

It seems that nothing was going to ruin the happy couple’s day: not a song and not a photographer hiding in a cupboard of the castle in the hope of getting a few snaps of the special day.

Over the whole weekend, security was on high alert around the Castello Di Vincigliata. Guests’ passports were checked on arrival and their mobile telephones were also said to be taken off them.

As necessary as the measures probably were, the words ‘paranoid much’ still come to mind…
