Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian share adorable snaps from first ever Father’s Day

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian are celebrating their first ever Father’s Day since welcoming their daughter Blake.

The couple welcomed their first child together via surrogacy last September, with Brian’s sister Aoife being the surrogate for the two.

Earlier this morning, the dads took to Instagram to share a snap of them enjoying their first ever Father’s Day with baby Blake.

Brian captioned the post: “And Just Like That, we are celebrating Father’s Day @gourounlian. So to us Happy Father’s Day. We are BEYOND BLESSED with you baby Blake, you are our LIFE.

“The journey to parenthood can be an absolute rollercoaster. So to all the Fathers & father figures out there, today is our day. We have just been presented with 2 fabulous little trophies that we will CHERISH FOR LIFE.

“So for the whole day Arthur / Blake I want to be spoiled rotten. Normality will resume tomorrow. #happyfathersday.”

Aoife acted as a surrogate for the couple’s first child, who was born in September 2022.

With Aoife being their surrogate, the presenter has thanked her for giving them “the gift of life.”

Sharing a heartwarming statement about his sister at the time, Brian wrote at the time: “You are an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE HUMAN. From our first jokingly conversations about [surrogacy] back in 2015 when you moved in with us in London, to our more serious chars about it in January 2021 in the middle of the pandemic when we would go on our daily walks.

“This has been in the works for YEARS. But everything happens when it’s supposed to and for us, everything really clicked. Your dedication and focus has been out of this world. You have also put yourself out there publicly for everyone to voice their opinions about this & you never faltered.”
