In an interview this week, Brad Pitt has revealed that he owned a gun at the age of six.
The Ocean’s Eleven star explained that he started with an air gun and was soon upgraded to a shot gun which he inherited from his grandfather.
He also said that he fired his first handgun when he was only eight years old, but he argues that growing up with weapons has taught him to be responsible with guns.
“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” the actor told Radio Times. “My brother got my Dad’s, I got my father’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten…
“The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon,” Pitt, who was born in Oklahoma but raised in Missouri, explained.
