Will the phone hacking scandal ever die down? We don’t think so, in fact, we reckon the entire thing is probably going to get a bit worse as more and more celebs are coming forward with claims against the former News of the World.
And do you know who one of the latest celebrity claimants is? Well it’s our very own Keith Duffy. The Boyzone singer is seeking compensation over the alleged phone hacking by journalists from the former News of the World.
According to the Irish Daily Star, Keith was listed among more than 40 new claimants that include Sarah Ferguson, Uri Geller and Tamzin Outhwaite – all who are filing claims for hacking-related damages against Rupert Murdoch’s News International.
Keith Duffy has filed a claim against the former News of the World.
But Keith isn’t the only Irish celeb who believes he was the target of some unlawful earwigging. Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden has also filed a claim (and Brian’s ex-wife Kerry Katona is reported to have lodged some claimant papers as well).
At the start of the year, News International managed to settle 58 phone hacking cases out of court, but we imagine they’ll have to fork out a hell of a lot more money before the entire thing blows over.
We wonder who will be the next Irish celebrity to step forward with a claim against them?
