Boyzone star Shane Lynch says he’s quitting showbiz

Shane Lynch has revealed that he will no longer perform with Boyzone and plans to quit showbiz for good.

The 46-year-old performed with Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy, and the late Stephen Gately on and off for the last 30 years but has now said fame is having a negative impact on his family and has now stepped back. Shane revealed that he is "very happy not to be a part of that world anymore" and is happy for the other members of the band to continue without him. Speaking to the Irish Independent, he said, "I won’t be performing with them again. "They might not know exactly. I haven’t gone to them saying, 'Boys, I’m not coming back to the band.’ I’ve just been very open that I’m out of the industry - music, TV, and everything." Reassuring fans that there are no bad feelings between him and the band, Shane confirmed that there are no plans for Boyzone to head on tour or release music any time soon. One of Shane's most recent TV appearances was on The Real Housewives Of Cheshire alongside his wife Sheena. The couple has been married for 14 years and as she's the newest addition to the cast this series, Shane appeared in an episode or two. "I feel so lucky and it is an absolute honour to be joining The Real Housewives Of Cheshire," Sheena said as it was announced she'd be joining the show. "Since lockdown I promised myself I would try to do things that are unlike anything I have done before… and boy this is one hell of a ride." Taking to her social media, Sheena formally announced the news saying: "Yes it’s true guys, I’m so happy to finally be able to tell you the new series of The Real Housewives Of Cheshire @officialrhoch starts 11th October on @itvbe featuring ya girl! Little old me!!!! "Would love you to join me for the ride of my life!"
