Bono’s wife was airlifted to hospital following a quad bike accident according to reports this morning.
Ali Hewson, who works as a fundraiser for a number of charities, was taken to hospital after falling off a quad bike during a holiday in Costa Rica.
Ali apparently broke her ribs after falling off a quad bike on the beach.
She was apparently taken, with her husband in tow, to CIMA hospital in Escarzu with initial reports saying that she had a suspected broken leg.
However local media are now reporting that the U2 singer’s other half actually has broken a number of ribs.
Bono is said to have accompanied his wife to the hospital.
The accident is said to have happened on a beach and while Ali is injured, she is believed to be recovering well.
A spokesperson said: “Ali had an accident while on a family holiday in Costa Rica. She sustained a couple of broken ribs, some cuts and bruises, and is recovering well.”
