It was certainly a night to remember.
Shane McGowan celebrated his 60th birthday last night, and all the stars rolled into town for it.
Bono and Johnny Depp performed on stage together and Sinead O’Connor, Glen Hansard and Imelda May even made an appearance as well.

However, the star of the night (apart from Shane, of course) was our President Michael D Higgins.
Yep, Mickey D rolled up at the end of the night to present Shane with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Not a bad birthday present, huh?
According to reports, the pair of them hugged before Shane said “we’ve met before” to which the Mickey replied “we did, yeah.”
Fair play Shane, and Happy Birthday!
