Bonnie Ryan urged people to be kind to their parents
Podcaster Bonnie Ryan has opened up about the final conversation she had with her father, Gerry Ryan.
It has been 15 years since the broadcaster’s passing, and his daughter is speaking out about their last conversation.
In a moving TikTok video, Bonnie explained that their final conversation wasn’t a good one.
They had been arguing so she handed the phone to her sister without telling her dad she loved him.
Bonnie, who was just a teenager at the time, opened up about that final conversation.
“This day 15 years ago was the last time I ever spoke to my dad. It was on the phone and he was annoyed at me because I had gotten two parking tickets in the one week – so kind of fair enough.
“Anyway, I was annoyed at him because he was annoyed at me, and I remember handing the phone away to my sister and going, “Ugh, take it. He’s getting angry at me”.
“I didn’t say to him “Goodbye” and I didn’t say to him that I loved him. Little did I know the very next day I would find out that my dad had passed away and my whole world was going to be rocked forevermore.”
She urged her followers to tell their parents they love them because life is so fragile.

Bonnie shared:
“This is your reminder: Don’t forget to say “I love you”, don’t forget that life is so fragile and you just don’t know what’s coming around the corner.”
“If you have your parents, give them an extra squeeze, or whoever you love in your life, because you just don’t know what could happen.”
Gerry Ryan died on April 30th, 2010. He was found dead in the bedroom of his Leeson Street home.
He died from a cardiac arrhythmia.
