Britney Spears’ family give statement as young niece released from hospital

"Believe in miracles" That was the message from the family of 8-year-old Maddie - the niece of singer Britney Spears after a horror crash that left her unconscious for two days. She was airlifted to hospital after the car she was travelling in swerved to avoid a ditch and ended up overturned in a pond. Her family had pleased to the public for prayers and now they have their precious girl home. Jamie Lynn Spears posted a picture of her daughter on Instagram leaving in a hospital helicopter with the caption: She said:

"Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover," Jamie wrote. "Above all else, we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed.?"

According to TMZ, the police report outlined what happened:

"The ATV and child were instantly submerged in the water right before [her parents'] eyes," it stated. "Within seconds, the child's mother, stepfather and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail. The child was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV's safety netting"

Maddie was released after two minutes underwater. What a lucky escape.
