Hands up who remembers the musical stylings of Samantha Mumba? C’mon girls – you know you had a copy of her single ‘Gotta Tell You’ hidden away in your cd collection a few years ago.
And, if you’re anything like the Her.ie girls, chances are you can still remember every single word (eh…no…we totally did not just have an impromptu karaoke session in the office…eh…)
Anyway, the Irish Independent reports that Samantha Mumba has said that she is still confident that she can make it big in the film industry in Hollywood. In fact, Samantha recently tweeted about the fact that she had an audition for an acting role.
The 29 year old said that she was “focused” before her big audition, and afterwards she took to Twitter to share the following news with her fans:
Samantha’s first major acting gig was in 2002 when she landed a role in the film The Time Machine (anyone else remember it? Did you even see it?). Since then, she has gone on to appear in a number of independent Irish films.
She has also done the whole reality-television thing – back in 2008, Samantha starred on the ITV show Dancing on Ice and subsequently announced that she was retiring from music in order to focus on her acting career.
