The $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively was dropped on June 9th

Blake Lively has released a statement following the news that a federal judge dismissed Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against her.

Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment after working with the director on It Ends With Us.

Baldoni then sued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist for extortion, as well as defamation.

The $400 million lawsuit alleged Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, hijacked It Ends With Us’ production and marketing.

It also claimed the pair manipulated media to smear Baldoni and other members of the production with false claims of harassment.

The lawsuit has been dismissed by New York federal Judge Lewis J. Liman.

Since the news broke out, Lively issued a statement on her Instagram story

“Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety.”

“Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tried to break us.”

“While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back.”

“I’m more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves,”

“Including their safety, their integrity, their dignity, and their story.”

“With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me, many of you I know. Many of you I don’t. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you.”

On June 9th, ABC News reported that a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit against Lively.

Blake Lively’s lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, stated the dismissal was a “total victory and complete vindication for Blake Lively”:

“As we have said from day one, this ‘$400 million’ lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it.”

“We look forward to the next round. Which is seeking attorneys’ fees, treble damages, and punitive damages against Baldoni, Sarowitz, Nathan, and the other Wayfarer Parties who perpetrated this abusive litigation.”
