Belle Hassan admits her dad used his contacts to help her get on Love Island

It's all about who you know.

Your dad's probably pretty sound. He definitely helped you get a job in a shop or pub when you were in college – but would he get you on a reality dating show? It's safe to say most wouldn't, but that's exactly what Belle Hassan's father did. She's admitted that her actor dad Tamer used his contacts to help her land a place in the Love Island villa. Tamer, who's appeared in the likes of Game of Thrones and Batman Begins, went to a pal with a TV connection after Belle expressed an interest in becoming an Islander.

"I had a conversation with my dad and he asked me if I wanted to do the show," she told Closer. "I didn't really think much of it and before I knew it one of his friends [got me in contact] with someone at ITV, and then I did the audition and started the application process."

She got through the auditions and was chosen as one of this year's Casa Amor contestants. The 21-year-old turned Anton's head when she arrived and they quickly coupled up; going goat-milking on their first date. They weathered some bumps along the way but finished Love Island in fifth place. They still appear to be going strong almost two weeks after leaving the villa.
