Bebe Rexha fan arrested after throwing phone at singer’s face

Bebe Rexha has shared an update after a fan threw their phone at her face during a concert in New York City.

In the now-viral video, the singer can be seen falling on stage after she was hit in the face with the phone.

The singer drops to her knees in the clip before being taken backstage at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City.

A fan has been arrested following the assault. According to a recent statement from the NYPD, a 27-year-old man is now in police custody.

He has reportedly been charged with assault following the incident.

“On Sunday, June 18, 2023 at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct.

“A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face.

“The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing. The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.”

The 27-year-old male has been arrested and charged.

Bebe Rexha uploaded a photo following the incident to reassure fans that she was doing okay.

The singer’s face is bruised and cut in the photos, but she told fans that she is “good”.

Fans expressed their concerns about the incident in the comment section with many stressing that concerts should be safe places for both musicians and fans.

One wrote: “People literally need to stop throwing their phone on stage. Sorry this happened to you.”

“So sad to see this. No one should ever throw a heavy object like that at an artist! That person needs to be banned from all concerts,” another said.
