Battle of the Boy Bands: The Wanted’s Jay Hits Back at One Direction’s Louis

And so the Twitter war continues...

It’s not the first time The Wanted and One Direction have come to blows over Twitter and we have a feeling that it won’t be the last either!

Apparently the latest spat started after 1D’s Louis Tomlinson mentioned The Wanted at a gig on Saturday night.

When Tom Parker caught wind of this via the social media site, he tweeted his fellow pop star. This led to a somewhat heated exchange which included Louis sharing an article about Tom’s failed X Factor audition.

Louis said something about The Wanted during a recent gig.

It wasn’t long before their respective band mates started to weigh in with Liam Payne reportedly saying that their drummer had more followers than Tom.

Jay McGuiness then had his say with a scathing tweet, or should we say essay! He wrote: “Dear @Louis_Tomlinson, please stop mentioning us in your gigs, we certainly no longer mention you and it’s time to let dead dogs lie.

“Your passive-aggressive style of speaking makes me cringe, and I wish you’d either have the bollocks of some of your co-workers to speak truthfully, or the class of the majority of them to be silent.

But that wasn’t all as he continued: “I’m not sure what’s happened since we saw you at the XFactor, but you’ve done a sterling job of becoming one of the most overrated, arrogant and not to mention insincere people around.

“Your shocking lack of talent will only be forgiven by lots of humility and no-strings-attached friendship among your band. Louis, don’t measure your worth in followers or money, because they’re fickle, and when they go you might just feel worthless.”

Jay (far left) and Tom (far right) hit back at the One Direction singer.

By the end of the evening Max George’s fling with Lindsay Lohan and even the boys’ girlfriends had been dragged into it.

While the majority of the tweets have been deleted, Louis did make reference to it in his latest post. He said: “huge love to all our fans!! What a fun filled night haha !”

Tom was much less cryptic with his final message: “Calling it a night. Ignoring negative comments from now on and concentrating on the important people… all you lot 🙂 peace x”.
