Ariana Grande has shared a detailed post concerning her “toxic relationship” with ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller.
The singer said that she had “tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years” but that she did not accept blame for ending their relationship.
In a lengthy statement on Twitter, she said:
“I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be.
“I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem. Let’s please stop doing that.
“Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was. I will continue to pay from the bottom of my heart that he figures it all out and that any other woman in this position does as well.”
Grande was responding to a tweet about the pair’s relationship that called the situation “heartbreaking” for Miller.
Twitter user Elijah Flint had said:

Grande began her response by saying that it was “… absurd that you minimise female self- respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn’t the case (just Cinderella is ab me).”
Grande and Miller announced their split of two years recently.
It was later reported that the 24-year-old was seeing SNL star Pete Davidson.
Elijah – the guy who wrote the tweet – soon responded to Ariana apologising for “minimising” what had happened and for hurting her.
“I truly hope you and Mac get back to your best lives as soon as possible,” he said.
Ariana thanked him and said that she was sending him love.
