Ariana Grande says the move will “scare the absolute sh*t out of my fans”

Singer and actress Ariana Grande has confirmed a major career change that her fans may be disappointed about.

She has landed her dream role in Wicked but is the singer turning her back on her pop career?

Speaking on Bowen Yang and Matt Roger’s podcast Las Culturistas, the singer said she will be focusing on acting more in the future.

She believes the move may upset her fans but musical theatre and acting is something she’s always cared deeply about.

“I’m going to say something so scary, it’s going to scare the absolute sh*t out of my fans and everyone.

“I’m always going to make music, I’m always going to go onstage, I’m always going to do pop stuff, I pinky promise,” she explained.

She said acting has helped her reconnect with a part of herself and has been a healing experience for her.

“I think I love acting, I love musical theater. I think reconnecting with this part of myself who started in musical theater and who loves comedy — it heals me to do that,” Grande said.

Grande admitted that acting “is a lot better for me” because you’re “constantly reliving that one thing that you wrote the song about” when performing.

Grande also hopes to find more roles that are the right fit and make sense for her.
