Another #FreeBritney documentary is in the works

"I went to LA in search of the truth of how Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, ended up in a conservatorship."

There's another Britney documentary on the way and by the sounds of it it's going to be just as good as the last one with more shocking truths about the star's legal situation. The new doc will look into the star's conservatorship and the fans who have been supporting the FreeBritney movement, it's currently under the working title, Britney, and will air on BBC Two. Journalist Mobeen Azhar "will seek to uncover the truth behind the conservatorship that Britney Spears has been held under for the last thirteen years." Mobeen started filming last year, and includes a court hearing about the star's conservatorship lawsuit, he also travels to Britney's hometown of Kentwood and LA. The BBC explains: "Along the way he attends a court hearing, finding himself in the midst of the ongoing battle between Britney's conservatorship team and the passionate fans behind the #FreeBritney movement." Mobeen explained: "I went to LA in search of the truth of how Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, ended up in a conservatorship. "I found myself in a world of lawyers, superfans and paparazzi and spent time with many of the people who've had a front row seat in Britney's life. This film taps into the energy of the #FreeBritney movement and questions the industry, fandom and the laws that facilitate conservatorships." Britney has been under her dad's conservatorship since 2008, it was only supposed to be temporary but now the star has been caught up in this situation for almost 13 years without a sign of it ending. This year it's been made very clear that the star wants to be free and have control of her own finances and life. Britney's dad, James, has said "I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family." There's no air date yet for the new documentary but it's looking like it will be ready for before the summer.
